Can't seem to get Zaishen Keys - Guild Wars Forums

I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. I have read and reread how to do this and it isn't working.

I took my character to Temple of Balthazare and talked to High Priest Zhang. I registered my 'account' with (can't remember NPC name - something like Tolken???) talked to Zhang again.

All I get is 3 options from Zhang - 3 "what is..." options = nothing about keys. I go back to Tolken(??) and get options for PvP fighting.

Nothing about keys.

Can someone please explain the step I am missing or another "how-to" so I can finish this. THANKS!!

The very first time after you register your account at Tolkano you talk to Zhang, you get a special text dialog and 50 tournament reward points implicitly added to your account. You may have clicked away that dialog, because it has no buttons.

Check your hero's panel for TRP or immediately go back to Tolkano and click on the option "Buy a Zaishen Key with Tournament Reward Points." where you get one Zaishen Key for 5 tournament points. You should be able to get 10 keys.

Check your H (Hero) -> Account tab panel for Tournament Reward Points. You should have gotten 50 from Zhang (there's no special option to choose this, you just get them when you speak to him after you register your account with Tolkano).

You can then speak to Tolkano to trade reward points for zaishen keys.

This. Click that button 10 times. You now have 10 Z-keys. Stupid me, been playing for four years. Just did this last night.

Okay I tried all of the above - again.

I do not have the option to get keys. I do not have points (from zhang).

When I go to Zhang I only get the 3 options of "explain....." nothing about points. When I go to Tolkana I do not get any option for keys - just about PvP tournies. I have NO points in the Hero area.

I double checked the "Apply for" and my character is already there and I can't change this.

I am doing something wrong and I can't for the life of me figure out what.

This is a one-time option for your account. Once your account got the points, it will never get it again. Are you sure your account never got the points in the past and never used them for whatever purpose? Did you create the account yourself by buying it from the Ncsoft online store or by entering the key from a physical key card?

Or did you buy an already created account and were told the userid+password by the seller? If this is the case, the seller may have harvested the points+keys himself.

This is my account - I have the physical box from Original, Faction and Eye of the North.

The character 'name' I put the EofN (High priest/Tolkano for quest) is the one that has tried and tried to get the points/keys. I never recieved any points or keys.

I'm trying to recreate the steps that you've already taken and perhaps guide you with the necessary steps to get you through this.

I'm sure you've tried all of this already, but the steps are as follows.

1) Speak to Tolkano and register your account.

2) Speak to High Priest Zhang.

Note that the First time after the February 19, 2010 update you will receive a pop up window that says

"On behalf of the Xunlai Guild and the Zaishen Order, I conducted an exhausting investigation into tournament agent Kun Shao's shoddy record keeping, but even with the wisdom of Balthazar I could not make sense of his ungodly mess. Therefore, I have closed the Xunlai Tournament House and have sent Kun Shao to work as a stable boy in the Zaishen Menagerie. According to Kun Shao's records, you and basically every living thing in Tyria should receive 50 Tournament Reward Points. I don't know how that's even possible, but that's what the records say. Congratulations."

This should add the 50 Tournament Reward Points which can be viewed in the Hero Pane.

3) Speak to Tolkano again and select Buy a Zaishen Key with Tournament Reward Points. It takes 5 Tournament Reward Points to Buy a Zaishen Key. this should get you 10 Zaishen Keys.

I will check all of my characters - at least the ones that are "old" enough to do this area. I "assume" I used the character that I made the "account" for?? But stranger things have happened.

If you are not getting these options, (irregardless of which character you are using because the Tournament Rewards Points and Faction are Account Wide), then you are either speaking to the wrong NPC or this is something that only Guild Wars Support can help you with.
